Max Lake

The 48 unit Max Lake claim block straddles the paved Armstrong Highway, 75 kilometres north of Thunder Bay and is only 15 kilometres east of the Lac des Îles palladium, platinum mine of North American Palladium Ltd. That mine is one of only two primary PGE mines in North America. The Max Lake claims lie along strike of the Lac des Îles mine in Archean mafic volcanics adjacent to a major east-north-easterly trending, deep crustal break. Showings of disseminated and massive iron sulphides have been found on the property and geochemical and geophysical surveys are planned.
